DENALI NATIONAL PARK AND PRESERVEMount McKinley is North America's highest peak. At
20.320 feet (6,194 meters) above sea level, the mountain looms over the surrounding tundra, home to
Alaska's "Big Five" of grizzly bears, caribou, moss, Dall sheep, and
wolves.
There is only one road into the six million acres of wild land in
Denali National Park and Preserve.
For the best Denali experience, stay at
Camp Denali or North face Lodge not far from prime photo locations at Wonder Lake.
One of the best ways to photograph the mountain is from the air during a
"doors off" flight with an experienced
Alaska bush pilot. Kantishna Air Taxi is the only company that offers flight seeing from the closest airstrip to the mountain at the end of the 92-mile long park road.
